Two tiny gardens where the path is the focal point. Adjacent clients sought to enhance the visual appeal and accessibility of their gardens. In both projects we used natural clay pavers to add texture and planting to soften the boundaries.
This is a typical long thin town garden. The clients were keen to transform this ordinary patch of lawn into a garden for their young family. We incorporated a curved brick paver path leading to the oak shade-giving pergola which also concealed the garden office at the end of the garden.
We included areas of naturalistic, wildlife-friendly planting in raised beds along the fence line and two areas of terrace for alfresco cooking and relaxation in the shade.
This small garden was in a state of neglect with a small muddy lawn and a terrace next to the house that was barely wide enough for two to sit on.
Our client wanted to create a garden that functioned as a place to sit and entertain and to fill with plants and objects that reminded her of loved ones.
We designed a space that contained a comfortable area for dinning with generous steps up to a small lawn and a second terrace which caught the last of the evening sun. Lots of paving detail was designed to frame the lawn and to add interest to the upper terrace.
