South Downs Garden

Our clients asked us to transform their blank canvas of a garden into, well a garden. The garden sloped away from the house and looked onto the South Downs. The brief was to connect the house which sat above surrounded by a large terrace to the rest of this spacious garden.

The resulting design involved creating a second raised area, this time a lawn with steps down to the main garden, through the new gravel garden, down to a circular lawn, through an arch to the lower meadow area.

What the clients said:

“Lucy and Lee visited us several times earlier in the year at times convenient to us. Several designs were produced for our consideration, following which we were able to fine tune the plan to incorporate exactly what we wanted. Both Lucy and Lee were at pains to ensure that we would get the most from our available budget, which was not generous for such a large space. The planting scheme is a work of art in itself and has been much admired by everyone.”
